Design Meeting at SVA - Ideas taking shape and constructions forming! It's all very exciting!  Focus in on the Museum in the Park installation in the plunge pool and particularly the Preview Evening! Anne Rogers work for 'Weave' will explore the juxtaposition between weave and non-weave, ie felt. Incorporating weave into felt and also weaving as part of the felting process. Jenny Bicat is keen to embrace the water wheel!

We also had our photographs taken for the STROUD LIFE which should feature us very soon and give you a flavor of what is to come from the WEAVE experiment.

May 2nd - 21st 2009 We would like to thank all our visitors to Cut 2 On Fold for their involvement, contributions and support! We had over 800 visitors and now look forward to developing the exciting work for the performances this summer.

Arts Council England, South West Executive Director, Chris Humphrey said:
'We are delighted to be able to support this innovative, unusual and collaborative project involving textiles, fashion and performance. It will bring textiles to new audiences in different venues, enabling public engagement across all age ranges.'
March 2nd 2009 The Arts Council Southwest has awarded the Studio Seven textile artists with a grant to fund CUT 2 ON FOLD, a cross-arts project encompassing textiles, installation, and dance, which will take place across Gloucestershire in Summer 2009.

For the second time in as many years, The Arts Council has shown its support for the innovative work of the Studio Seven textile artists, by awarding funding for their interdisciplinary, ground-breaking work aimed at bringing textiles to new audiences in surprising contexts. Following their highly successful Make Do & Mend in 2008 and Textiles in Performance in 2007, Studio Seven returns with CUT 2 ON FOLD, a multi-faceted textile-led project encompassing an interactive installation, a contemporary dance piece devised to bring the installation to life, and a strong educational programme.

explores the journey from flat pattern to calico toile to finished garment to the wearing of the garment. The installation will be held at The Space in Stroud during the Stroud International Textile Festival from 1-21 May 2009. Enter a mysterious workshop in which stand a silent group of tailor’s dummies clothed in the bare bones of an outfit, each one a world within a world. Visitors will be invited to embellish and add to the installation, slowly bringing it to life. As the installation progresses, the garments and installation will change according to the additions made by visitors, workshop participants, and the Studio Seven textile artists.
